Our Beginner Classes
Our Monday,
Tuesday & Wednesday beginners'
classes are ongoing classes, that students are welcome to attend on a casual
basis. Our Thursday beginners's class is taught in pre-payed 6-week
courses. Our Beginner classes are suitable for students who have had no previous tango dancing
experience. These classes are also highly recommended for
Intermediate/Advanced students who what to improve and firm their
fundamental technique. We focus on the fundamentals
of tango technique. In particular; posture,
embrace, walking, pivots, lead/follow
principles, musicality and navigation techniques to help give you the confidence
to start participating in the various Milongas (tango social dances) that
Sydney has to offer.

Private
Lessons
Federico is
available for private lessons on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons in Randwick (at the Randwick Literary
Institute;
60 Clovelly Road). Other times by arrangement. This is the
best way to get the individual attention, aimed at fast forwarding your
dancing.
General
Class information
Clothing & shoes: We recommend students wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement
of the legs (no tight skirts). Shoes for women should ideally be leather
(or suede) soles, with a medium heel and an ankle strap to prevent the
shoe falling off. Men need to wear leather soled shoes. Rubber soled shoes
that stick or grip on wooden floors are not recommended.
Partners:
You do not need to bring a partner to attend classes. We try to rotate
partners frequently to ensure everyone gets a chance to dance. We like
to emphasise tango as a social dance and one of the important aspects
of this is the ability to lead/follow different people.
However, please note: as with many dances, tango tends to attract more
women than men. If you are a woman considering taking classes on your
own, it is always helpful if you can encourage a man to come along as
well.
